MANAGERS ARE CRITICAL TO OUR SUCCESS
Our management team members must act ethically and lead by example. This means living out – both in words and actions – our Core Values and Code principles.
As a manager of team members, you have a duty to set the culture and work environment on your team. The way you make decisions, handle concerns , different opinions, and even bad news, will set the foundation for trust with your teams and stakeholders. Your success and the success of your team depends on the trust you build together.
It’s important for managers to create an environment of trust where team members are comfortable asking questions and raising concerns without fear of retaliation. Because you are often the first point of contact when team members have questions and concerns, be ready and willing to listen. Respond with dignity and respect. Follow through on commitments. If you don’t know the answer or are unsure, let the team member know you’ll get back to them, refer the question or concern to the relevant department, and follow up.
